Reprocessing PET Bottle Flakes to rePET

Source Material Selection

Journey starts with sourcing PET Bottles Flakes originating from beverage bottles that have be hot washed, decontaminated, and clean meeting a strict criteria.

Decontamination Phase

A multi-stage sorting and decontamination process to further improve the purity of the sourced clean PET Bottle Flakes to achieve almost 100% purity for the clean PET Flakes​. Flakes are further decontaminated, filtered, degassed/vented, and homogenised in the melt phase​. The melt will then be pelletised to recycled amorphous PET pellets.​

Solid State Polycondensation (SSP) Phase

The recycled amorphous PET pellets then go through the SSP stage.​ This is will further decontaminate the pellets by removing volatiles, acetaldehyde, and effectively destroying organic contaminant​. The intrinsic viscosity (IV) and crystallization of the pellets takes place to produce rePET​

Quality Control and Testing

The process parameters will be consistently monitored to ensure consistent quality throughout. ​The rePET material will be regularly tested for purity, IV, and contaminants.​ Collaborate with independent laboratories to verify compliance with food safety standards.​ Detailed records of testing results will be maintained.

Certifications and Compliance

Obtain certifications such as FDA (U.S.), EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), or other relevant local certifications. Adhere to regulations specific to food-contact materials.

Traceability

We will establish a robust traceability system to track the entire production process.​ Trace back to the original PET containers and monitor each step.
